Berry Sorbet began as a simple block inspired by concrete breeze blocks and took a few wrong turns before landing in its final form. The final design uses clean geometry, strong repetition, and bright green corner accents to transform a straightforward block into a quilt with movement, secondary pattern, and a distinctly summery feel. The green corners create star-like intersections between the blocks, while the pink and white units shift the design away from its architectural starting point and into something fresher and more playful.
Constructed from strip piecing, stitch-and-flip corners, and straightforward block assembly, Berry Sorbet is built from simple components that come together into a bold graphic layout. The repeating block structure creates plenty of visual impact, and the alternating pink and white blocks give the quilt its rhythm across the quilt top. Instructions are included for four sizes.
