Ripple was the first quilt pattern I ever designed, and it’s still one of my favorites. I was interested in seeing whether simple shapes and fabric could create a sense of movement, and Ripple grew from that idea. Repeating triangles radiate outward from the center, creating the illusion of ripples spreading across the quilt.

Suitable for confident beginners, Ripple uses straightforward stitch-and-flip construction to create a design that looks much more complicated than it is. The effect becomes more dramatic as the quilt grows, with each round extending the movement farther outward.

Made with just two fabrics, Ripple is a bold modern geometric quilt that lets the layout do the hard work. Simple construction, lots of movement, and still a design I love all these years later.
